had our SEP gang gathering today...

we should have just settled for minds/settlers today la or mahjong whole day la!

planned for BOWLING and SEAFOOD @ Turf City..

thennn... Bowling at Bt Panjang Plaza closed quite some time ago so changed to Marina Sq..

BUT after we finally reached Marina Bowling..this was 4.10pm the WHOLE PLACE was booked by company function.

NVM.

so we headed over to Turf City..

THEN we cudnt find any nice seafood place or the cheap steamboat buffet that xianrong claims..

SO after CLIMBING so high up n walking so long in the blazing sun... we took the shuttle bus fr turf city to Toa Payoh to look for steamboat buffet @ MARINA BAY

HOWEVER after waiting for like 0.5h for the bus 400 to go to the steamboat place,
we circled the place and TO OUR SURPRISE, (and what i kiddingly cursed about)

the marina seafood buffet place CLOSED DOWN! the WHOLE PLACE was GONE!!!!

GOSH. so by then it was like 8.10pm

so tired n hungry after 4hrs of doing NOTHING but travelling around singapore and facing disappointments AGAIN n AGAIN,

we banked on the GUARANTEED eating place..

NEWTON FOOD CENTRE!




today is like the most suay day ever. 4 hrs with no bowling, no dinner as planned. nothing came true after all that planning.

HOW CAN PLACES JUST CLOSE DOWN or DISAPPEAR!?! what the hell.

sigh. but still, it was nice catching up la.. :D san dieggggo... i MISS U!!!

dated sc yesterday to carry out our plan A/B but oh well..
plan A didnt go so successfully since we got the wrong venue to redeem our free Movie tix for HORTON!
so we went ahead to eat the yummmy crepes near Hotel Rendevous!

serene's Suzanne which is a dessert crepe with Pear Ice cream and Orange Liquor!

toO bad i couldn't capture the FIRE that the chef-cum-boss lighted on the liquor himself!

after all that burning, there was this strong terpene+ alcohol smell! FUNKY! hehe

i had my Seafood Crepe that made me crave for PastamAnia!! hehe it was yummy coz it had ALL THE SEAFOOD i like!! minus the prawn!
got sotong, white clams, mussel n someother kinds of shellfish that i can't figure out!

and after the dinner was Daiso&Carrefour Shopping!
happy with my buys!

bought my RED WINE :) cheap in SG but ex to me coz the same cali wine costs like 4-5times more here! :(
so since i wanted red wine, i bought a wooden wine opener for 2bucks at daiso! hehe
and i pampered myself with a big cheesecake..

and today, i passed by the Pasar Malam near my place and i Couldn'T resist the temptation and bought D24 DURIAN home!!! hahah i have such a strong durian craving.

now i cant wait to SAVOUR for DURIANS after i digest my dinner! BLISS! *smirks* :)

outdated but i'm craving for Bak Kut Teh..

outdated post but im suddenly craving for bak kut teh.

last sunday, xiaogu brought us to this super nice bak kut teh place at tiong bahru road.. called Ya Ping Bak Kut Teh! i think maybe it's coz of the 9pm Huang Jin Lu that im craving for bak kut teh. haha

and this bak kut teh is damn traditional and deilicious!
the pig's intestine n liver taste super soft, Q and nice! :)
and they had you tiao to put in bakkutteh which i nv had before!
tastes quite yummy!
and they had hot water to "sterilise" all ur utensils and the mini teapot with mini cups! cooool! ;)

k after bak kut teh, now i wanna try Miss Clarity Cafe somehow coz yesterday on of the judogirls mentioned and today i saw it over Chihchun's blog! :)

barbeque last last saturday 13 April!

abit outdated but haha. just missed the char kway teow that xianrong cooked for us :) :) :)
tried cooking it but it wasnt as nice as the one he cooked! :( well. he's just naturally a good cook! haha had nice smoked salmon and absolutely delicious chicken wings too! :)

i miss char kway teow. i wanna eat singapore char kway teow with amny chili and many hum :(

lasT sunDay, we actually planned to go wilD animaL park but the bus was not available so we actually wanted to just spend the day at home.. but who knows..

a guy we knew at I-Cafe one Friday rang zijia up to ask us out for DIMSUM!! :)

and the best thing is.. HE HAD A CAR! :) heeheee..

Charles was the HongKong ABC and he drove us to this Shanghainese Restaurant and we had superb food! CHao Nian Gao (fried nian gao), La Rou Mian (spicy meat noodle), Niu Rou mian (stewed beef noodle) and most imptly.. XIAO LONG BAO! wah! damn nice! nv expected myself to be able to eat xiao long baO here! heehee

then we went to Old TOwn SaN diEgo.. to see all the hispanic stuff!

trieD on the HAts and just another guitar and mexican shawl will make us in MEXICO! hee

and crystal! this is the FIRST PUBLIC SCHOOL in San DieGO! heehe. next time i can tell my kids ive been here!!! :) only onE claSSroom leh! and like 20desks la..

and there was this SpAniSH or isit mExican dance at this CorneR of old town.. abit cowboyish with like colourful big pompom skirts ppl dancing! i love their dance. i love their songs. i love their cheerings. just make me feel so happy hearing n watching them dance and sing! :) :) watch this here!

then charles brought us to Mount Soledad to see the nice view of whole San Diego! damn nice! can see the SHORES and DOWNTOWN, LA Jolla etc etc.. but it was super COLD.. haha the wind was FREEZING!!! there was a memorial for all the soldiers there.. which is the cross.. 3 teeny weeny us in front of the cross..

then we headed for dinner at a Cantonese restaurant.. had CRABS, LALA (white clams), FriEd Codfish, and KanGkong! wooo hoooo! NICE! too hungry n busy eating forgot to take pix of it.. haha.. and ended off the night was some blueberry wine and daidee at Charles' hse till 230am before he sent all of us home!!!

really nice of him.. but well.. dun really noe him v well.. and kindof different frequency so alot of awkward moments.. but nonetheless.. it was a good day.. with a CAR! heehee

last thurs.. we went over to xianrong's house to cook lunch! :) or rather, he cooked for us! :) xianrong is now our RESIDENT CHEF! he's ZAI ok! dun pray pray ah! heeheee..

he cooks well leH! YUMMY fooood! :)

this is CHIEF COOK happily prepping n tasting for his PERFECT dish! :)

and yaolong n zijia busy trying to cook mapo tofu with our mapo sauce bought from asian market! tadah! our mapo tofu and xianrong's yummy spicy chicken+potato+goldenmushroom :) after that was a few games of bridge and daidee b4 heading home! :)

nExT the HIGHLIGHT of the weekend..
STEAMBOAT and LOU HEI (lao yusheng)

us prepping all the fooood!!! yaolong was such a perfectionist and his only joy was to present the food so prettily for foto taking! hahaha

look at the AMOUNT of food we had to FOUR PEOPLE!!! enuf to feed army trooop!

from top left: prawns, crabmeat, fishball, fish slice, pork slice, tofu, shrimp wanton, chicken, golden mushroom, brinjal (cooked), cabbage finally, our MA LA HUO GUO (hot spicy steamboat) and the WHOLE TABLE of dishes!

after we've all washed up and played a few games of daidee and bridge overnight, we started out LOUHEI!!! :) in the middle of the night la!! hahahaa.. i tink it was 2.30am!! hahahaha..

ingredients: carrot strips, white radish strips (self stripped), self crushed peanuts, lee kum kee orange sauce, jellyfish and SALMON!

it was the most unforgettable lao yusheng! so late! and we were trying so hard not to make too much noise so that we wun wake our landlord and aptmate up! :)
super duper fun!!! hehee.. and not forgetting.. RED WINE!! :) wooohooo! :)

wunderful new year experience.. tho i really miss my family and relatives and being there with them gambling n drinking away!! :(

but nonetheless, it was a SPECIAL CNY coz I webcammed with SO MANY OF MY relatives!! and had the RECEIVE ANGPAO trick over webcam!!! hahaha..

it was HILARIOUS! my uncles n aunties pass angpao into the webcam over their side and i RECEIVE it over my side (coz i have angpaos with me) hahaha..

and im happy coz my aunts n uncles left their angpaos with my MUM!! muahahahaha... :) :) :)

I LOVE MY BIG FAMILY AND RELATIVESSS!!! they are a great loving funky bunch! i missss homeee!!! :( :(

last weekend, i....

went ICE-SKATING & StAyed oveR at saSkia'S hse! :)

US BeFoRe wE wenT in the riNK!

disappointingly, the ice skating rink was as pok as that at fuji ice palace jec!

coz it was named ICETOWN.. supposedly quite famous so quite disappointing...

and there were so mani kids and so expert!!

and I dun even noe how to iceskate coz the last time i iceskated in PRIMARY 6!
malu!

managed to catch some pictures in the rink of the 4 of us! :) fun!!

xianrong and saskia got the hang of it quite fast coz they knew how to skate..

and me... haha im PROUD of MYSELF! :)

i learnt how to skate at the end of that 2.5hr session after all the blisters

and wall grabbing and duck-walking.. :) :) :)

i remembered the last time in p6 i still cudn't skate.. was walking on skates!

now i can GLIDE n SKATE! whEeeEeee

on the way to saskia's house.. we dropped by PACIFIC beach and

this is US at the supposed MOST FAMOUS THAI RESTAURANT in SAN DIEGO!

must admit the food was good.. especially the firing tomyum soup! :)

all spiciness is on the scale of 1-10.. but i still miss THAI EXPRESS TOMYUM! :(

then by the time we got back to her house after some shopping at the pacific beach area and saw the beach IN THE DARK.. hehe (nothing to see la. just strong waves!)

we watched a really HILARIOUS SHOW i never had the chance to watch!

HOW TO LOST A GUY IN 10 DAYS.. 3/4 of the show was spent LAFFING AWAY and 1/4 was awwwing away... ahhh!! i tink most ppl have watched it coz its so passe.. tho who hvnt. u must! hahahaa

and the next day before we went back home to face the reality of the piling homework over the weekend :(..

yummy choc chip pancake and delicious scrambled egg, ROSTI, sausage breakfast!! :) yummm!finally i got to go to one of the places i wanted to eat at in US.. i still havent tried KRISPEE KREMES n IN & OUT burger!!! :( :(

i love last weekend. and it'll be funloads this coming long one with president's day holiday on monday!! wheeeeee------

heck to my half written essay due on tuesday! hehe totally not in the mood to do!

my first ORGANIC buffet that the cost was calculated by WEIGHT!

MEXICAN ENCHILAS

my first MEXICAN meal here in california! a real goood meal after the HIKE @ Tio Leos!

there is just so much mexican food here coz its just so near!!! tortillas, quesadillas, burritos, tacos etc etc.. haha
